Economic Growth Cultural Vitality City moves forward in pursuing revitalization of historic Civic Auditorium

Los Angeles, CALocal News

The Santa Monica City Council has taken a significant step toward revitalizing the Civic Auditorium by approving an Exclusive Negotiating Agreement (ENA) with Revitalization Partners Group (RPG) on March 27, 2025. This agreement grants RPG and the city a six-month period to assess the project's feasibility and negotiate a final agreement. RPG will pay a $250,000 deposit to cover analysis costs as part of their commitment. City officials, including Director of Community Development Arminé Chaparyan, highlighted the importance of this initiative in supporting local businesses and driving economic recovery. The selection of RPG followed a thorough process initiated in late 2023, aimed at finding a development team with the necessary financial resources and experience in historical renovations.

The ENA outlines performance schedules and financial responsibilities, ensuring a structured approach to the project. Residents can expect regular updates on the ENA process and project timeline via the city’s official website. This redevelopment effort underscores Santa Monica's dedication to cultural vitality and economic growth.
