Photos Drone images above Altadena capture massive Eaton fire destruction

The Eaton fire has devastated Altadena and Pasadena, burning 14,117 acres since January 7 and leading to at least 17 deaths. As the fire rages on, drone images have surfaced, showcasing the extensive destruction across the region. According to authorities, over 9,000 structures have been impacted, including more than 5,000 single-family homes. Firefighters have made strides in containment, reaching 81% as of January 19, supported by water-dropping helicopters. The fire's rapid spread has been exacerbated by strong Santa Ana winds, posing significant challenges for emergency responders.

Notably, more than 180,000 individuals are still under evacuation orders, highlighting the ongoing threat to public safety. The situation remains fluid, with officials continuously assessing and addressing the fire's impact. As the community grapples with the aftermath, recovery efforts will be crucial in rebuilding lives and restoring the affected areas.
