Santa Monica Seeks Community Input for Aging and Disability Action Plan with Open House on March 22
Santa Monica is launching an initiative to gather community feedback for its Aging and Disability Action Plan, aimed at improving services for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Through an online survey, available until April 1, residents can voice their opinions and experiences, while an open house on March 22 will provide a platform for in-person discussions. This initiative underscores the city's commitment to Justice, Equity & Inclusion, reflecting the need for comprehensive support systems. The planning will be directed by an Advisory Committee that includes various community stakeholders and subject matter experts. Attendees of the open house will have the opportunity to share their insights on creating a more age- and disability-friendly environment in Santa Monica.
For those unable to attend in person, virtual participation options will be offered, ensuring wider community engagement. The action plan, developed with support from a grant by the California Department of Aging, is set to be presented to the City Council in fall 2025. Community members are encouraged to participate and can find additional information on the city's official website.
