Santa Monica is celebrating Women’s History Month in March 2025 with a series of events themed “Moving Forward Together, Shaping the Future! ” The kickoff event features an artist proclamation recognizing Barbara Carrasco and Lindsey Haley, highlighting their significant contributions to the arts and community. Upcoming activities include a panel discussion with local women entrepreneurs, including Mayor Lana Negrete, aimed at inspiring future generations. The International Women’s Day Bike Ride promises a fun and engaging way for families to celebrate while learning about women's contributions. Additionally, the Kiddie Karaoke event invites children to sing songs by female artists, fostering early appreciation for women's achievements in music.

A special film screening of “Fly Like a Girl” will explore the journeys of trailblazing women in aviation, followed by a panel discussion. The Santa Monica Public Library enhances the celebration by offering staff-curated book lists for all ages. These events not only honor the achievements of women but also promote community involvement and awareness of women's rights and history.
