2 dead in North Hollywood, including armed suspect

A deadly encounter unfolded in North Hollywood on September 16, 2024, when Los Angeles police officers shot and killed a man who allegedly aimed a handgun at them. The officers were responding to a call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon at the 12100 block of Victory Boulevard, where they discovered a deceased individual inside a vehicle. LAPD Detective Meghan Aguilar detailed that upon arrival, the suspect pointed his handgun at the officers and fled north on Bellingham Avenue. Officers quickly established a perimeter around the area. During the incident, the suspect emerged from a parking structure but retreated after officers fired at him again.

He attempted to exit the structure once more while still armed, leading to a fatal confrontation. The man died at the scene, and investigators found a handgun nearby. Authorities are still determining whether the suspect fired at the officers during the incident.
