City of West Hollywood Announces Beginning of City Council Candidacy Nomination Period

The City of West Hollywood has officially launched its candidacy nomination period for City Council, beginning on July 15, 2024, and concluding on August 9, 2024. Residents interested in running for City Council must gather 20 to 30 signatures from registered voters within the city as part of the nomination process. To qualify, candidates must be at least 18 years old, residents of West Hollywood, and registered voters. The upcoming General Municipal Election, where two City Council seats will be decided, is scheduled for November 5, 2024. City Council members serve four-year terms and select a Mayor from among themselves each year.

Those wishing to run are encouraged to contact the City Clerk’s office for guidance on the nomination process and requirements.
