The City of West Hollywood is accepting nominations for its 26th Annual Disability Service Awards, which will honor those who have made significant contributions to the disability community. This year's awards will be presented on October 23, 2024, in conjunction with Disabilities Awareness Month, and will be broadcast live on WeHo TV. Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals, businesses, media representatives, and nonprofit organizations that have demonstrated exceptional advocacy or service for people with disabilities. Nominations are due by August 15, 2024, and self-nominations are accepted, allowing anyone to highlight their own or others' contributions. The Disabilities Advisory Board, formed in 1995, will review the nominations and select the honorees.

This initiative emphasizes the City’s commitment to improving accessibility and advocating for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Interested parties can access the nomination form through the City’s website or submit nominations via email. For further inquiries, the Human Services Division is available to assist, ensuring that all community members have the opportunity to participate in this important recognition event.
