Mayor Bass Coordinates Strategic Deployment of Resources Citywide As Wet Weather Continues Evacuation Orders Issued For Vulnerable Properties Within Recent Burn Scar Areas

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the San Fernando Valley and other parts of L. A. County as wet weather persists. A Flood Watch will take effect countywide from 1:00 AM Saturday until 10:00 PM Saturday. Evacuation Orders are in place for vulnerable properties in burn scar areas, effective from 8:00 PM tonight to 8:00 AM Sunday.

The City’s Emergency Operations Center remains activated, coordinating efforts among LAPD, LAFD, and other departments to ensure safety. Resources include a 22-member strike team ready for rescue operations and multiple swift water rescue teams on standby. Mayor Bass previously issued an Emergency Executive Order following January wildfires to prepare the city for such weather events. Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority is also providing outreach to those in need during the inclement weather. Residents are encouraged to sign up for Emergency Alerts and report flooding or damage through 311.
