Mayor Karen Bass launched Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling's $47. 5 million revitalization project in Downtown Los Angeles, aimed at modernizing the historic facility known as "The Ship. " This project will enhance the site ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, contributing to the ongoing revitalization of Downtown LA. Mayor Bass highlighted the importance of local investment in supporting good-paying jobs for Angelenos. David Carey, Market Unit President for Reyes Coca-Cola, expressed pride in the company's legacy in Los Angeles and its commitment to the community.

Councilmember Ysabel Jurado noted that the investment reflects the momentum and potential of Downtown LA, honoring its industrial heritage. The revitalization is part of a broader trend, as seen in the recent expansion of the LA Convention Center, which is projected to create over 15,000 jobs. The Convention Center expansion aims to attract more than $150 million in additional visitor spending annually. These initiatives signal that Los Angeles is poised for growth and economic opportunity.
