UPDATE Flash Flood Warning and Severe Thunderstorm Warning In Effect for Palisades Burn Scar Area

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the Palisades burn scar area until noon, along with a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 9:30 AM. An Evacuation Order is in effect for approximately 115 properties at risk of debris flows in the Pacific Palisades, Sunset, and Hurst burn scar areas. Mayor Bass outlined storm preparation measures, including the deployment of emergency resources and reinforced barriers to mitigate risks. The LAFD is actively monitoring conditions and has pre-deployed teams and equipment, including a 22-member strike team, to respond to emergencies. The LADWP is prepared to manage any potential power outages during the storm.

Residents can pick up sandbags at nearby fire stations to protect their properties from flooding. This coordinated effort reflects the city's commitment to ensuring the safety of its residents amid severe weather. The proactive measures aim to prevent damage and maintain public safety during the anticipated storm.
