Mayor Bass highlighted the need for timely completion and budget adherence for key developments, including the Convention Center and airport renovations. The directive, known as Executive Directive 15, supersedes a 20-year-old policy and aligns departmental authorities to facilitate smoother operations. Bass called on the City Council to reduce bureaucratic barriers further, enabling departments to carry out complex projects more effectively.

Key initiatives include historic investments in airport infrastructure and the modernization of the Port of Los Angeles. These changes are crucial as Los Angeles anticipates significant infrastructure investments and prepares for major events. The directive reinforces the Mayor's commitment to efficient governance and economic growth for the city.
