Mayor Bass Confirms Appointment of New General Manager of the Los Angeles City Employees Retirement System (LACERS)
Mayor Bass confirmed Todd Bouey as the new General Manager of the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System (LACERS), overseeing a $26 billion pension fund. Bouey, who has over twenty years of experience, previously served as Acting and Interim General Manager. His focus will be on ensuring the financial health of the pension fund through high-return investments while supporting the recruitment and retention of a strong City workforce. Mayor Bass highlighted the critical nature of the General Manager role in safeguarding the financial security of the City workforce's pensions. Bouey aims to modernize LACERS by digitizing services and embedding new technology to enhance transparency and efficiency.
He stated his commitment to delivering financial security for the City’s dedicated workforce while adhering to the highest standards of public accountability. Since December 2024, LACERS has initiated key modernization efforts under Bouey’s leadership. The system currently serves over 26,000 active members and more than 22,000 retired members and beneficiaries.
