Mayor Bass Commends City Councils Unanimous Confirmation of Domenika Lynch as El Pueblo General Manager
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced the confirmation of Domenika Lynch as the first Latina General Manager of El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument. Lynch, who has over two decades of experience in community engagement and philanthropy, will focus on revitalizing the site ahead of significant events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Mayor Bass described El Pueblo as a cultural anchor that requires strong leadership to support its immigrant community. Lynch, honored by the appointment, pledged to work closely with local leaders and merchants to enhance the area's vibrancy. Councilmember Ysabel Jurado praised Lynch's community-rooted leadership as vital for honoring El Pueblo's legacy.
Lynch previously served as Executive Director of the Aspen Institute Latinos and Society Program, where she advanced economic mobility for Latino communities. Her career in community service began at Univision, where she wrote about college access in both English and Spanish. Lynch's appointment marks a significant milestone for representation in city leadership roles.
