Resilient Rebuilding City Launches New HOME LA Pilot Program to Help Palisades Residents Rebuild More Resilient, Sustainable Homes

Los Angeles, CALocal News

The City of Los Angeles unveiled the HOME LA Pilot Program, aimed at assisting property owners affected by January's wildfires. The program offers up to $10,000 in incentives for rebuilding all-electric homes, emphasizing energy efficiency and sustainability. Homeowners can also receive $5,000 for whole-home batteries and $3,000 for ultra-low global warming potential heat pump water heaters. The initiative encourages the adoption of all-electric systems, including HVAC and cooking appliances. LADWP will conduct online workshops on August 28 and September 11 to guide applicants through the process.

Currently, the program targets homes damaged by the Palisades, Hurst, Kenneth, Archer, and Sunset wildfires. As resources become available, the program's eligibility may expand. HOME LA represents a significant step towards fostering resilient and environmentally-friendly housing in Los Angeles.
