Mayor Bass Encourages Angelenos to Participate in Dine L.A. Restaurant Week to Support Local Restaurants, Workers and Communities

Los Angeles, CALocal News

Mayor Karen Bass called on Angelenos to support local restaurants during Dine LA Restaurant Week, which runs from July 25 to August 8. This year, 480 restaurants across 88 neighborhoods will participate, marking the highest number ever. Bass pointed out the significant challenges faced by restaurants, including the pandemic's lingering effects and disruptive federal raids. She urged residents to explore new dining options or revisit cherished favorites as a way to uplift the local economy. Stacey Sun, Executive Director of Dine LA, remarked on the resilience of restaurants and the importance of this event in fostering community support.

Since taking office, Bass has implemented initiatives like the Business Navigator to streamline resources for small businesses. She has also provided assistance to businesses affected by federal actions, which included offering webinars and support services. These efforts aim to strengthen the backbone of Los Angeles’ economy—the small businesses that define its culinary landscape.
