More than 65 Angelenos Across Los Angeles Brought Inside Through Citywide Inside Safe Response Effort

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced the Inside Safe initiative, successfully bringing over 65 unhoused individuals into shelters across various neighborhoods. This effort aligns with the 2025 Annual Homeless Count, which revealed a significant 17. 5% decrease in street homelessness since Mayor Bass took office in December 2022. For the first time, the city has reported a consecutive decline in homelessness over two years, showcasing the effectiveness of the new approach. Mayor Bass emphasized the urgency of the initiative, stating the need to reject the previous inaction that left individuals on the streets.

The Inside Safe response effort provides supportive services and aims to expedite permanent housing solutions for those in need. Tent encampments have decreased in every council district, reflecting a citywide commitment to addressing homelessness. Furthermore, permanent housing placements reached an all-time high, demonstrating progress in combating this humanitarian crisis. Mayor Bass’s administration continues to advocate for cost-effective homelessness programs as the city works to bring all unhoused Angelenos inside safely.
