Police hope new image may crack cold case

Long Beach, WALocal News

The Oregon State Police are making renewed efforts to solve a cold case that dates back to 1999 by releasing a new facial illustration of a woman whose skeletal remains were found in Clatsop County. Discovered on November 3, 1999, by mushroom pickers in a wooded area near U. S. Highway 26, the remains have remained unidentified for over 25 years. The new illustration aims to jog the memories of individuals who may have relevant information about the case.

Law enforcement is optimistic that this updated image will encourage new tips that could lead to the identification of the victim and provide clarity on the circumstances of her death. This case highlights the ongoing challenges of cold cases and the vital role of community engagement in law enforcement efforts. Authorities urge anyone with information, no matter how minor it may seem, to come forward, as it could be crucial in bringing closure to this tragic story. The initiative reflects a broader commitment to justice and the importance of local support in solving crimes.
