Chance to Shine set a Guinness World Record for the largest cricket lesson, gathering 943 participants at Lord's Cricket Ground on Monday. The event surpassed the previous record of 645 participants from Birmingham in 2022. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the charity aims to promote cricket in state schools, particularly in disadvantaged areas. Kate Stephens emphasized that cricket encourages children to discover their abilities and gain confidence. Celebrity supporter Fury from Gladiators remarked on the event's benefits for shy children to connect and learn new skills.

Rob Ellington, a teacher at James Elliman Academy, called it a crucial day for students, enhancing their confidence and teamwork. Since its inception, Chance to Shine has reached over seven million children. The event reflects a broader commitment to increasing access to sports for underprivileged youth, fostering personal growth and social skills.
