Roksana Lecka, a 22-year-old nursery worker, has been convicted of abusing 21 babies, including kicking a child in the face and pinching others. At Kingston Crown Court, she admitted to seven counts of cruelty and was found guilty of an additional 14. The abuse came to light after parents reported unusual injuries, leading to an investigation by the Metropolitan Police. CCTV footage showed her repeatedly pinching and scratching infants, as well as kicking one boy and covering a toddler's mouth. Families involved described their trauma, with calls for urgent reforms in nursery safety now being emphasized by local politicians.

The Liberal Democrat MP for Twickenham highlighted the need for unexpected inspections and improved monitoring of nurseries. Senior prosecutors condemned the exceptional cruelty displayed by Lecka, emphasizing that no parent should fear for their child's safety in professional care. Lecka is scheduled for sentencing on September 26.
