Third man arrested over fires at homes linked to PM

London, UKLocal News

A 34-year-old man was arrested in Chelsea on Monday, suspected of conspiracy to commit arson at properties linked to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. This follows the arrest of two other men, including a 26-year-old detained at Luton Airport, as part of an investigation led by the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command. The inquiry involves three separate incidents: a vehicle fire in Kentish Town, a fire at Starmer's private residence, and another at a former home in Islington. Roman Lavrynovych, 21, has been charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life and is currently in custody awaiting a hearing. Emergency services responded to the fires, which caused property damage but no injuries.

Starmer expressed gratitude to the emergency services following the incidents. The police are investigating the motivation behind the attacks, given their connection to a high-profile public figure. The situation remains under scrutiny as authorities work to understand the full scope of the events.
