Higgins Homes PLC and four individuals face serious charges linked to the tragic death of Michaela Boor, who was killed by a falling pallet of bricks in Mile End, London, on March 27, 2018. The Crown Prosecution Service has charged the company with corporate manslaughter and violations of the Health and Safety at Work Act. Boor, who died one day after being struck, was just 29 years old when the incident occurred. The defendants include Thomas Anstis, Stephen Coulson, Dawood Mann, and Alexander McInnes, who each face a count of gross negligence manslaughter. They are also charged under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on June 16.

Malcolm McHaffie, head of the CPS's special crime division, emphasized the importance of a fair trial and warned against any prejudicial reporting. The Metropolitan Police continues to provide support to Boor's family as the case unfolds. The incident raises significant concerns about workplace safety practices in the construction industry.
