Pizza Hut reveals locations where restaurants will close
Pizza Hut announced the closure of 68 restaurants and 11 delivery outlets across the UK, resulting in 1,210 job losses. The closures will affect major cities including Brighton, Hull, and Edinburgh. Administrators attribute the downsizing to challenging trading conditions and increased costs, with cash flow pressures stemming from tax obligations. Yum! Brands intervened to save 64 locations and preserve 1,276 jobs.
Joint administrator Matt Callaghan stated that support will be provided for those affected by the redundancies. The UK operations had previously entered administration less than a year ago, highlighting ongoing financial struggles. DC London Pie Limited, which operates Pizza Hut's UK restaurants, acquired the chain from insolvency in January. The company also holds franchises in Sweden and Denmark, while Yum! Brands maintains ownership of 343 delivery outlets across the UK.
