Two jailed for killing man and hiding body in car
Lewis Benjamin, 30, and Jamal Ali-Richards, 29, were sentenced for the manslaughter of Justin Henry, whose body was discovered in the boot of a car in Purley, south London. Benjamin received a 20-year sentence, while Ali-Richards was sentenced to 8. 5 years after their conviction in April 2025. The two men attempted to conceal their crime after Henry was reported missing in October 2023, leading to a police investigation. Detectives employed CCTV footage, mobile phone data, and forensic analysis to uncover the truth.
Henry was last seen alive in Croydon on October 15, 2023, before being taken to Benjamin's flat, where evidence of a crime was later found. His family stated that while justice has been served, the void left by his death cannot be filled. Detective Chief Inspector Craig Magee emphasized the suspects' disregard for Henry's life and the pain caused to his family. Both men also admitted to perverting the course of justice during the investigation.
