London pair run to Wales for baby loss charity
Michael Brennan and William Richards, business partners from London, completed seven marathons in seven days, raising over £16,000 for a baby loss charity. Their 200-mile run from south London to north Wales was motivated by the premature loss of Brennan's daughter, Baby Brennan, who was born at 19 weeks. The funds raised will benefit a specialist baby loss support team at King's College Hospital, which aims to improve pregnancy outcomes. Brennan carried his daughter's ashes throughout the challenge, finishing on her due date as a way to honor her memory. He highlighted the emotional journey of grief processing and the importance of their experience in helping others facing similar losses.
Both runners noted that the challenge transitioned from a physical test to a mental one as the days progressed. Brennan's wife, Amelia, played a crucial role in planning the marathon, showcasing their strong partnership. The run's symbolic nature was significant for the Brennan family, linking it to their previous experiences of loss and hope.
