Teenager, 18, jailed for sexual assaults on trains

London, UKCrime

Hadi Al Koumi, an 18-year-old, has been sentenced to four years and eight months for sexually assaulting four women in London over three days. The incidents took place from August 6 to August 8, 2024, at various underground stations and on trains. Al Koumi pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault and was found guilty of a fourth. The court imposed a six-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and recommended that he be deported after his release. He will also be under supervision for three years and must register as a sex offender for life.

After one victim threw a glass at him, he fled the scene, but CCTV footage helped police identify and arrest him. British Transport Police noted that Al Koumi had taken "deliberate advantage" of the rail network to carry out his assaults. This case highlights ongoing concerns about safety on public transportation in London.
