Man guilty of stabbing murder of ex-partner's dad

Kamar Williams, 34, was convicted of murdering Derek Thomas, 55, in a knife attack in Stoke Newington, London, last July. The Old Bailey revealed that Williams had been looking for Thomas's daughter, Carron, but instead encountered her father, whom he stabbed multiple times. Carron had received threatening messages from Williams on the evening of the murder and had contacted police for assistance prior to the attack. Williams escaped the scene but was captured at Notting Hill Carnival after crashing a hired BMW and fleeing on foot. Prosecutor Anthony Orchard KC described the attack as "frenzied," highlighting the violent nature of the crime.

The case underscores the alarming issue of domestic violence and the potential consequences of threats made in such contexts. Additionally, it raises questions about the effectiveness of protective measures for individuals facing threats. This incident reflects broader societal issues regarding violence and the need for increased awareness and preventative strategies.
