New LGBTQ directory in honour of Strictly star

London, UKLocal News

The Ask Bobby directory, launched to honor Robin Windsor, aims to support LGBTQ+ individuals dealing with mental health challenges following his unexpected death in February 2024. Windsor's friend and ex-partner, Davide Cini, spearheaded the project to create a comprehensive resource for mental health charities, community organizations, and sporting groups. The directory emerges in response to alarming statistics revealing that 22 LGBTQ+ individuals have died from suicide or drug-related causes in the last two years. Cini recalled Windsor's commitment to helping others through dance, which served as a beacon of hope during his darkest moments. The directory has garnered interest from local establishments such as The Weekending gym, which focuses on providing healthier social alternatives for the LGBTQ+ community.

Matty Lamy, a gym member, described the space as a "second home," emphasizing its role in combating isolation and promoting mental well-being. Cini expressed hope that the directory would keep Windsor's spirit alive by continuing to make a positive impact. He believes that Windsor would be proud of this initiative, which aims to shine a light on mental health support within the community.
