London, UKLocal News

Jennifer Abbott Dauward, a 69-year-old film director, was found dead in her Camden flat on June 13, suffering from eight stab wounds to the neck. Her sister, Nancy Pexton, also 69, has been charged with murder and is set for a plea hearing on September 9. CCTV footage captured Dauward returning home on June 10 after a walk with her dog, marking her last sighting. Prosecutor Ben Holt noted that Dauward's Rolex watch was missing from the scene, suggesting a potential theft motive. A post-mortem confirmed that the cause of death was sharp trauma to the neck.

Neighbors described her as "exuberant" and "vivacious," indicating her active role in the community. Pexton, arrested on June 18, appeared via video link to confirm her identity during the preliminary hearing. A provisional trial date has been set for April 7, furthering the legal proceedings in this high-profile murder case.
