Reindeer in Lake Stevens get visitors in the holiday spirit

Lake Stevens, WALocal News

Luckie Farms in Lake Stevens has launched a festive holiday experience featuring two reindeer, Elsa and Piika, as part of their "Christmas at the Farm Experience. " Tours, available for $25 per person, last approximately 45 minutes and allow families to interact with various farm animals, including Highland cows and a Highland calf named Antonio. Tara and Scott Luckie, who moved from West Seattle to manage the 75-acre farm, aim to bridge the gap between urban residents and agricultural practices. As members of the Reindeer Farmers Association, they emphasize the importance of educating visitors about responsible farming and animal care. The Luckies' agritourism model not only diversifies their income but also fosters community engagement and appreciation for local agriculture.

The historic barn on the property, built in 1907, serves as a wedding venue and a backdrop for holiday festivities, including Santa's sleigh. Tours run from December 17-20 and December 26 to January 5, inviting families to create cherished holiday memories. By offering unique experiences, Luckie Farms reinforces the significance of local farming and the joys of connecting with nature.
