Lake Forest Park will host an important event titled "Understanding Today’s Youth Addiction Crisis" on May 24, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at City Hall and streamed via Zoom. The presentation will highlight the growing fentanyl crisis and the risks associated with high-potency THC products that are increasingly affecting youth. Participants will gain insights into national and state drug overdose statistics, as well as the evolution of the opioid crisis from prescription medications to dangerous street drugs. The event will also explore the fundamental differences in today’s substances compared to those of previous generations. Attendees will learn to recognize warning signs of substance use and receive practical guidance on how to support youth effectively.

Free Narcan will be available for those attending in person, reinforcing the community’s commitment to safety. This initiative aims to equip parents and community members with the tools needed to confront the addiction crisis. This event reflects a growing concern for youth and aims to foster a more supportive environment for their well-being.
