Learn Lifesaving Skills at a CPR, AED and First Aid Class
The City of Kirkland is actively promoting community safety by offering CPR, AED, and First Aid training classes through the Kirkland Fire Department and the Medic One Foundation. These classes are designed to equip residents with essential life-saving skills, particularly in response to cardiac emergencies. Deputy Mayor Jay Arnold emphasized the increasing demand for such training, noting that classes often reach full capacity, prompting the city to expand access. The program offers both certified and non-certified options, with fees of $30 for CPR/AED certification and $60 for CPR/AED & First Aid certification; however, free classes are also available for those not seeking certification. All participants must be at least 12 years old, and those under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Upcoming classes are scheduled for various dates in January and February 2025, and pre-registration is required. By providing this training, the city aims to empower more residents to respond effectively during emergencies and potentially save lives. Interested individuals can find more information and register through the city’s official website.
