Kenmore City Council Honors Community Champions and Highlights Human Services Initiatives

The Kenmore City Council meeting on March 25, 2025, highlighted the ongoing efforts in human services, with presentations from the North Urban Human Services Alliance (NUSA). Senior Manager Sarah Arntz detailed NUSA's mission to enhance community capacity in addressing issues like homelessness and youth mental health. The council acknowledged the contributions of various community members during the 2024 Human Services Awards, celebrating individuals such as Guru Dorja and Susie Moore. The Youth Human Services Leadership Award was awarded to Tanvi Aracapudi, who has made significant strides in youth mental health services at Inglemoor High School. Additionally, the Lake City Partners organization was recognized for its impactful work in combating homelessness.

The meeting also featured a Lifetime Achievement Award for Sally Kinney, an advocate in housing and homelessness. Arntz remarked on the excitement surrounding the awards and the importance of continued collaboration to meet community needs. NUSA plans to host a community forum in Shoreline to discuss local human service initiatives.
