Annual Survey Highlights: Discover What Matters Most to Our Community

The 2024 Community Survey conducted in Issaquah Highlands underscored crime and safety as the predominant concern among residents, with 72% highlighting it as a top issue. Traffic safety (40%) and land development (30%) were also significant concerns, indicating a pressing need for improved neighborhood infrastructure. Encouragingly, 75% of survey participants reported a strong sense of belonging, while 63% believed that opportunities to connect with neighbors were abundant. Residents expressed a keen interest in more social events, with 59% wanting to attend neighborhood socials and family-friendly music events. The survey results suggested that nearly half of respondents were less likely to attend events if they didn’t know anyone else going, highlighting a challenge for community engagement.

In terms of technology, the Highlands Fiber Network is set to enhance internet services, responding to residents' feedback about reliability and speed. These insights are pivotal for the Highlands Council and community organizations as they plan future initiatives, making the survey a vital tool for fostering community involvement and addressing residents' concerns.
