Energizing the Future PSE Installs New Pole-Mounted EV Charger in Issaquah

Issaquah, WALocal News

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) and the City of Issaquah have launched a pole-mounted electric vehicle charger near the East Sunset Way Trailhead, enhancing charging accessibility for residents and visitors. This Level 2 charger, part of PSE's Up & Go Electric program, can add up to 25 miles of range per hour, available 24/7. PSE Manager Malcom McCulloch stated that the partnership aims to ensure convenient EV charging access for all. Issaquah Mayor Mary Lou Pauly noted the charger’s significance in promoting clean transportation and achieving climate goals. The initiative involved community input and is the first of many planned installations throughout the city.

Unlike traditional charging stations, these pole-mounted chargers attached to streetlights increase installation locations. PSE is committed to expanding clean transportation options, with further announcements expected soon. Residents are encouraged to download the EV Connect app for easy access to the new charging station.
