Gig Harbor Police Blotter Officers chase suspect in burglary, car prowls

On February 22, Gig Harbor police pursued suspects linked to a series of burglaries and vehicle prowls but ultimately discontinued the chase for public safety as the vehicle reached speeds of 70 mph. Witnesses reported seeing the suspects checking car doors in the Gig Harbor North area prior to the pursuit. In a separate incident on February 25, a 39-year-old drunk driver was arrested after crashing into a ditch, where he verbally abused police and medical staff while refusing sobriety tests. Police also responded to a report of lewd conduct at Crescent Creek Park, resulting in the arrest of a man performing a sexual act in view of women playing pickleball. Furthermore, a Port Orchard man accidentally discharged a firearm in a hotel room while trying to unload his weapon, fortunately causing no injuries.

These incidents reflect significant concerns about public safety and criminal behavior in the Gig Harbor area. Local authorities continue to address these issues through responsive policing and community engagement.
