Sophia Fraser, an exemplary student from Gig Harbor High School, is being honored for her remarkable achievements in community service and athletics as part of the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation's Students of Distinction. With a strong athletic background, she has excelled in tennis, maintaining an undefeated record in second singles. Her commitment extends beyond sports, as she has played an active role in various volunteer initiatives, including leading projects for the Interact Club and serving as a reading tutor. Fraser prepares to transition to Gonzaga University for nursing, inspired by her high school experiences and the guidance of her favorite teacher, Mr. Bjorkman.

She advocates for youth involvement in community issues, believing that even small actions can drive significant change. Fraser's vision for the future includes pursuing a Master’s degree while continuing her passion for athletics. Her story reflects the values of dedication, leadership, and service that the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation seeks to promote. The banquet honoring her and other distinguished students will take place on May 15, 2024, at Ocean5.
