Gig Harbor Police Blotter Driver offered a homemade license during traffic stop

Gig Harbor, WALocal News

Gig Harbor Police cited a 52-year-old driver for obstructing an investigation on February 8, after he refused to answer questions or exit his vehicle during a traffic stop. The man was found driving a white pickup with a fraudulent license plate linked to "constitutionalist and sovereign citizens. " Instead of providing a valid state-issued driver's license, he offered a homemade version and attempted to cover the vehicle's VIN. In another incident, an unknown suspect broke into Round Table Pizza early on the same day, stealing an ATM and damaging several arcade games, with the investigation ongoing. Additionally, at Target, a shoplifting suspect injured a security guard by running over them with a shopping cart while escaping with around $700 in merchandise.

If identified, the shoplifting suspect could face charges of second-degree robbery due to the injury caused. These incidents underscore rising concerns about local crime and the challenges law enforcement faces in maintaining community safety. Gig Harbor Police are actively investigating these cases and working with local businesses to enhance security measures.
