In a significant bust, the Renton Police Department has arrested three individuals accused of orchestrating a large-scale shoplifting operation that targeted Ulta Beauty stores across King County. The suspects—Imiko Stark, 26; Vershawn Hairston, 25; and R’mani Sweet—are under investigation for stealing over $143,000 worth of cosmetics and fragrances from various locations. The trio reportedly participated in 23 theft incidents between late October 2024 and early January 2025, entering stores with pre-prepared shopping bags to facilitate their thefts. Video surveillance footage reveals their nonchalant demeanor as they pilfered items from the shelves. Hairston, with a troubling record of 22 previous convictions, faces the most serious charges, including ten counts of organized retail theft.

In contrast, Stark and Sweet have fewer prior offenses but are nonetheless implicated in the organized theft scheme. This case highlights the escalating issue of retail crime in the area, prompting law enforcement to enhance security measures at retail locations. The involvement of multiple jurisdictions in this theft operation emphasizes the need for collaborative efforts to combat organized retail theft effectively.
