Matt Chomjak, a dedicated Community Transit bus driver, clinched the first-place title at the 2025 International Bus Roadeo, marking his second win at this esteemed competition. He has been a bus driver with Community Transit since 2001, driven by a passion for the job that makes him enjoy every aspect of it. Chomjak's journey began after he saw a bus while between jobs and decided to pursue driving, winning his first roadeo competition shortly after starting. He later became a training instructor but returned to competition, emphasizing the importance of mental preparation for success. The recent event in Austin, TX, attracted 75 bus operators and numerous maintenance teams, showcasing exceptional transit skills.

Chomjak's near-perfect performance in the obstacle course impressed judges and solidified his status as North America's top bus driver. Community Transit CEO Ric Ilgenfritz commended Chomjak's dedication and skill, reflecting the agency's commitment to excellence in public transport.
