The Port of Everett is preparing for its 2nd Annual Memorial Day Ceremony on May 26, beginning at 11:00 am at Pacific Rim Plaza. This meaningful event honors military personnel who lost their lives in service to the country. Mayor Cassie Franklin will read a Memorial Day Proclamation, while Port Commissioner Glen Bachman will also deliver remarks. The keynote address will be given by Captain Stacy Wuthier of Naval Station Everett. The ceremony will feature traditional memorial activities, including the singing of the National Anthem, a presentation of colors, and the playing of "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes.

Three Port Commissioners are expected to attend, highlighting the event's significance in the local community. Meanwhile, the Roche Harbor Yacht Club will hold a private Memorial Weekend Cruise at the Everett Marina, featuring various activities for club members. This dual focus on remembrance and community engagement underscores the importance of honoring those who served while fostering local connections.
