Everett Community College has been named one of 200 eligible institutions for the $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, a prestigious recognition in higher education. The selection is based on student outcomes data, which includes retention, completion, and transfer rates. EvCC President Chemene Crawford stated that this honor validates the college's commitment to academic excellence and student success. Over the next 20 months, participating colleges will undergo a rigorous review process to assess their effectiveness in improving student outcomes. The Aspen Prize aims to identify and celebrate colleges that provide life-changing education, helping students achieve their goals.

Notably, this is the first year that the pool of eligible colleges has expanded from 150 to 200. Other Washington colleges also recognized include Bellevue College and Clark College, among others. The full list of eligible institutions can be accessed on the Aspen Prize homepage.
