Port of Everett Awarded 1 million Grant for Washingtons Largest Boat Launch
The Port of Everett received a $1 million grant from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) to renovate the Jetty Landing Boat Launch, the largest public launch in Washington. Design work will commence in early 2026, with in-water construction slated for 2027 and completion expected by February 2028. The launch, located at 10th Street and West Marine View Drive, averages nearly 30,000 launches annually, peaking at 35,000, and serves both recreational boaters and emergency responders. Jeff Lindhout, Chief of Marina Operations, stated that the improvements will address long-standing requests from boaters and enhance safety. The project will replace six floats that support twelve launch lanes, as the existing floats have surpassed their useful life.
The RCO grant is part of a program initiated in 1964 to support the development of boating facilities across Washington. The Port’s project excelled in a competitive selection process, emphasizing its potential public impact and design. Previous RCO funding was used to rebuild the Jetty Landing Park restrooms in 2022.
