Edgewater Bridge summer 2025 construction update

Everett, WALocal News

The demolition of the old Edgewater Bridge has been completed, enabling the construction of a temporary bridge to begin. This temporary structure will support the new, seismically-resilient Edgewater Creek Bridge while safeguarding the sensitive habitat of Edgewater Creek below. The old bridge's remaining columns will help support the temporary bridge, reducing costs and avoiding the need for property acquisition. Crews will use a large oscillator to drill 10-foot-diameter support shafts for the new bridge’s concrete columns. Upcoming paving on West Mukilteo Boulevard will require single lane closures, but lower traffic volumes from the bridge closure are expected to expedite the work.

Unauthorized access to the construction zone is prohibited to ensure safety and efficiency. Residents can find updates on the Edgewater Bridge Replacement Project at the city's official website. The project highlights the city's commitment to infrastructure improvement and environmental protection.
