Everett Resident Pleads Guilty to Three Federal Felonies

Everett, WALocal News

Steven Goldstine, a 54-year-old resident of Everett, Washington, pleaded guilty to three federal felonies, including unlawful possession of a destructive device, ammunition, and a firearm, related to a pipe bomb explosion that damaged a neighbor's vehicle. The explosion occurred on December 31, 2024, and victims identified Goldstine as a suspect due to prior conflicts. Investigators used video footage to establish a connection, leading to the discovery of matching clothing and over 700 rounds of ammunition at Goldstine's home. Sentencing is scheduled for December 15, 2025, with potential prison time of up to 15 years for ammunition possession and 10 years for the other charges. Goldstine's criminal history includes prior felony convictions for burglary, arson, and possession of stolen property, which prohibits him from owning firearms.

The investigation involved collaboration between the Everett Police Department, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. The case highlights ongoing concerns about firearm possession among individuals with felony records. Assistant U. S. Attorney Jessica Manca is leading the prosecution for the Western District of Washington.
