Everett Pedestrian Hit Run Accident Victim Dragged a Full Mile

Early on July 27, Everett Police officers found Brent DeArman, a 39-year-old male, injured on 7th Avenue SE after a hit-and-run incident. Despite efforts by Everett Fire units, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe DeArman was struck by a vehicle near West Casino Road and 5th Avenue West, which then continued driving, leaving him a mile away from the collision site. The Traffic Safety Unit is collecting evidence, including community tips and video footage from local businesses. By July 29, detectives identified the suspect vehicle and potential driver, which has been impounded for further investigation.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office is working on officially identifying the victim and determining the cause of death. Chief DeRousse has communicated with DeArman's family regarding updates in the case. The investigation continues as authorities seek additional information from the public.
