Two Everett police officers acted heroically, rescuing the occupant as flames spread rapidly. Mayor Cassie Franklin praised their actions, declaring them heroes deserving of recognition. Chief John DeRousse noted their selflessness and quick thinking amidst the chaos. Both officers were treated for smoke inhalation and are recovering.
