Trade In Your Library Card For The New Design

Ellensburg, WALocal News

The Ellensburg Public Library has selected Megan Pickerel-Winer as the winner of its 2025 library card design contest. Her design features a quail reading a book, reflecting her long-standing connection to the birds in Ellensburg. Pickerel-Winer, who has been visiting the library since childhood, hopes her design will encourage Kittitas County residents to utilize the library's diverse offerings. Currently serving as a library assistant at Lincoln Elementary School, she highlighted the importance of the library in her life and family traditions. The new library card is available for patrons to pick up, with an exchange of current cards free until the end of October.

Starting November 1, patrons will need to pay a $1 fee to exchange their cards. This initiative underscores the library's role as a vital community resource, promoting literacy and access to information. View the new design at www. ellensburgwa. gov/newlibrarycard.
