Join Cop On Top On August 15

The Ellensburg Police Department confirms the return of its "Cop on Top" event on August 15, 2025, from 12-6 p. m. at Fred Meyer. Law enforcement leaders will be "stranded" on the roof to raise funds and awareness for local Special Olympic athletes. The first 150 kids arriving will receive a Back-to-School Backpack, and goodie bags will be lowered throughout the event.

Raffle prizes include a $5 gift certificate for 50 gallons of fuel and an inflatable paddle board, with tickets priced at $1 and $5. All proceeds will support local athletes participating in the Special Olympics, highlighting the community's commitment to inclusivity. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to promote local sports and engage residents in charitable activities. The event fosters community spirit while raising essential funds for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Attendees are encouraged to join in the fun and make a difference.
