Water Street Overlay Project 730 Update

Ellensburg, WALocal News

Crews are finalizing northbound paving on Water Street today and will begin work on the southbound lane tomorrow, August 1. High temperatures have caused delays as asphalt requires longer cooling times, potentially compromising road quality and safety. To meet mandatory specifications, crews will stop work earlier during extreme heat. The paving project will continue into the week of August 4, maintaining the current traffic control configurations. Residents should park outside the affected area to avoid being unable to access their driveways and side streets during work hours.

This project is part of ongoing efforts to improve local infrastructure in Ellensburg. The Public Works department has emphasized the importance of quality results over speed in this project. For further inquiries, residents can contact Public Works at (509) 962-7230.
