Airline offers new nonstop flights from San Diego

San Diego International Airport inaugurated its first nonstop flight to Amsterdam, providing local travelers with expanded options. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will operate three weekly flights from San Diego to Schiphol International Airport, scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. This new year-round service allows access to over 160 additional European destinations, enhancing connectivity beyond existing routes to London and Munich. San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria highlighted the flight's importance for the regional economy, emphasizing its potential to boost tourism and international business. The groundwork for this route was laid during a 2022 trade mission to the Netherlands, aimed at promoting San Diego businesses globally.

KLM's CFO underscored the city's significance as a gateway to Southern California. The airline's participation in the SkyTeam Alliance offers travelers additional benefits through partnerships with 19 other international airlines. This development marks the 10th international destination from San Diego International Airport, further solidifying its role as a key travel hub.
